For the entire month of October 2022, the Life in English Community and I are going to record ourselves speaking in our target language every single day; and we strongly encourage you to participate!

How does it work?

For each day of the month, you will be given a topic to speak about. You can prepare a script before you start recording, or you can improvise and say whatever comes to mind.

Step 1

Grab your phone, turn on the camera, and record yourself speaking about the topic for at least 1 minute in English.

Step 2

Post your video on TikTok or Instagram use the hashtag #lifeinenglish, and tag me @englishwithkaizen so I can find your videos and save them.

Step 3

Take some time to review your video, watch other members' videos and give them feedback, and then get ready for the next day.

Why should you participate?

A lot of us make excuses like, “I don’t have time to practice my English.” or “I don’t know what to talk about when it’s time to speak English.”

Well, this challenge is a simple and practical solution to your problem. You’ve already got a topic prepared for each day, you already have a cell phone, so all you need to do is take 60 seconds out of your day to live your life in English. You will be surprised by how many words and expressions you learn when you try to speak about all these different topics.

I’m sure you’ll find that by day 6 or 7, you’ll naturally want to speak for more than 60 seconds. You’ll naturally start looking forward to your daily recording, especially once you see your friends staying committed to the challenge and making progress.

This is also an incredible opportunity to get out of your comfort zone and let the world see that you’re working hard to improve your English, and that’s something to be proud of.

You might be nervous, you might be uncomfortable, you might be afraid of people judging or criticizing you… but there is no growth without a little pain and discomfort.

I want you guys to see that learning a language doesn’t have to be complicated, and you don’t have to do it alone. By joining a community, learning with some friends, and practicing consistently, you can make progress in a more practical way and have fun while you do it.

It’s time to take action!

So if you want to participate in this challenge,  all you need to do is go to lifeinenglish.net/challenge to see the video topics for each day, and get ready for October 1st!

And there just might be a nice little prize waiting for any of you who can actually stay committed and complete this challenge. But remember, you have to post your videos on a social media platform and tag me so I can watch them all.

And finally, if you’d like to join the Life in English Community and start improving your English communication skills in a practical way, you can visit lifeinenglish.net/community.
